The main season for this fruit is from June to August, and secondary season from December to February.
Rambutan
The second fruits we would like get into our list here is rambutan. There are also several type of rambutan do Malaysian have but the easiest one to get is divided into two, the red and the yellow rambutans.
The taste of rambutan is sweet, like a honey but actually not. Juicy and watery like lychee but also not. Hard to elaborate more, it is better for you to try to eat one or two rambutans while travelling in Malaysia. Rambutan season usually occurs from June to September
Mangosteen
A violet fruit with a crown, as we called this fruits for the very first time when we are still kid. This fruits is sweet and sticky. Easy to peel the skin yet hard to eat the fruit filling. But for the taste we pretty sure you will like it.
This fruits generally available from May to September every years. This fruits commonly love by the kids due to the sweet taste and creamy. This fruits can eat as it is and also can use to make jam to eat together with white bread. It is rare to find a mangosteen juice due to it’s creamy and sticky texture.
Pineapple
The fourth rank in our list is pineapple. This fruits not only use to consume as it is but also widely use as an ingredients in few Malaysian cuisines. Pineapple also being use to make a pineapple jam to consume together with white bread.
Pineapple is hard to peel and need someone who expert on this. However, the peel also contains bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme known for its digestive properties. Mango
The last in our list is mango. It is different from mangosteen, totally different. Malaysia grows their own types of mangoes. Each have distinct flavours and characteristics. In this article we will recommend you to try Harumanis. The word “Harum” means fragrant and “Manis” means sweet.
This harumanis taste very sweet. Can eat as it is and some can make fruit juice. In some restaurants they are provided milky mango juice that you should try as well.
